| The Pick-Up Artist |
[Sep. 26th, 2008|06:12 pm] |
Right now VH1 is having "The Pick-up Artist" marathon. This show is terrible and by terrible I mean awesome, like a car wreck. I still think Mystery looks stupid with that fuzzy hat.
I can't wait until season 2 starting in October!

3:34 PM - Aquarium + Sangria = Best Labor Day EVER!!! Current mood: procrastinate...y? Is that a mood? I went to the aquarium with Amanda, Chuck and Colin. Puffins, sting rays and seals, oh my! I dig this thing:
There will be more pictures of us pretending to eat various sea animals later. Afterwards it was off to Tony/Nika/Rochelle's (sans Rochelle) place for some Labor Day bbq. Special appearances made by Kei and Hector and way later by Rochelle and Dean. A good a Labor Day as any. Okay time to get back to work. |

| | Du Dja Yal - Moreno Trio | ] | was around the horror section and was flipping through some Dean Koontz, on the back cover there was a picture of him and his golden retriever. There are some other ones that have a family portrait and others where the author looks like they're in a jolly mood.
I don't know why I find that weird, unsettling even. The pictures that are in the horror genre are the same as any other, is it because its dark subject matter that I expect the author to be equally dark? |

| | Nothing Else Matters - Lullaby Renditions of Metallica | ] | So its Saint Patrick's day...but what did he do? Oh and it was also my birthday!
After sleeping for about 15 hours I woke up to a phone call wishing me happy birthday, cleaned the turtle filter and then I went to a funeral. Yeah...a friend of the family passed away from cancer. My heart goes out to the daughter, she wasn't told and her mom died just a day before she came home for spring break. Its true everyone comes together at either weddings or funerals, unfortunately it was the later instead of the sooner. Rachel, long time friend and sister of another family, saw my dad and the old gang together again. She said that in 30 years that'll be us and I think that is one of the most wonderful things that can happen. On the way home I realized that Daddu's friends all have daughters...I'm not sure why I thought of that.
Anyway...
Since we were in the neighborhood we went to have some really good duck, I'm talking as if I were back in Thailand, good. Then it was off to House of Blues for a show but not before eating some great spinach artichoke dip, wonderful ceasar salad and godly creme brulee. We each got an Irish Carbomb that Jeh hates me for now. Then it was down to the music hall for some headbanging awesomeness that was He Is Legend, Chimara, Dragonforce and Killswitch Engage.
In short it was one of the best birthdays ever.
I will now listen to some Lullaby Renditions of Metallica to put me to sleep. Good night and thank you to my friends and family for your love on this day. |

| | Office Space | ] | I went up to the mountains today with some old friends. The weather was absolutely perfect, just a thermal was enough for the day. I didn't get to go on as many runs as I had hoped but it was fun teaching my friend's little cousin to ski. I thought I would be out of practice since I've been out for almost two season but I held my own except for the couple times I ate it on the jumps.
On one of the higher courses, I was waiting for the rest of the gang to come up the lift. I turned around and saw the most breathe-taking mountain view. I couldn't help but stare out at the scenery.

| [ | mood |
| | contemplative and sick | ] | I got sent home from work today. I didnt blow up at a customer, like many of you may think. I passed out while I was at the registers. It wasn't as dramatic as all that I blacked out and then awoke when I hit counter but one of the managers saw it and sent me home. I had a fever but I didnt think it was that bad.
Also today, I thought that if I got some different points of views, for whats been troubling me, it might make me understand my problem. No harm in asking right? Well it didn't work cause no one on the "otherside" wants to talk about it, well not to me anyway. Yeah it was humiliating but it was for a greater good so it was worth being talked down to. In anycase I still have to try and figure things out.
Before falling asleep from a dose of NyQuil, I was reading a book that I got while I was on Sabbatical at the forest monestary. I reread a passage that helped me get through a rough time once and is giving me insight again. I wish I could recomment the book I was reading but because it isnt really for sale anywhere I put up PostSecret, which is a book I've been looking at for the last couple days. For those that haven't heard about it, it is published anonymous confessions sent from ordinary people around country to this place in Maryland. Some are funny, some quirky and some are dark secrets that need to be said but cant, so they send it to PostSecret. |

Thanksgiving is not one of those holidays I really celebrate...or any for that matter. Sometimes I get invited by friends and thats when I realize why I don't really care about Thanksgiving, its because I'm not so jazzed about the food. But this year I felt kinda festive so I'm making Thanksgiving lunch for me and my dad.
-Turkey/ham sandwich with provolone, avacado and a dill cream cheese spread. -german potato salad -cream of corn soup -cranberry juice -pumpkin pie, of course there's going to be pie, you know how I feel about pie. |
